Billy Ray Snow

Mr. Billy Snow, age 92, of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Northern Hospital.  Mr. Snow was born in Surry County on August 3, 1926, to Grover Cleveland and Hartie Mae George Snow.  He was the owner/operator of Snow’s Garage for many years, where he built a much respected reputation throughout the area.  Among the many who will always cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Mary Shelton Snow; daughters, Carol Snow, and Mary Brim; sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike Snow and Van  and Toni Lyn Snow; grandchildren, Brandon Snow, Tracey Williams Ramos (Javier), Brent Williams, Mikel Snow, Jeremy Snow (Savannah), Josh Snow, John C. Strickland, Jr.(Sarah Hale), Laura Savanna Nelson (Ashton); five great grandchildren; one and ½ great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Bertie Mae George.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gray Snow.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Temple Baptist Church by Rev. Roger Vaden and Rev. Edward Shelton.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
