Billy Jay Willard

Mr. Billy Jay Willard, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at his home. Mr. Willard was born October 14, 1930, in Surry County, to the late General Meigs and Cora Westmoreland Willard. He is survived by a son, David Willard and his girlfriend, Joan Gregg, of Mount Airy; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita Bowman, Maude and Howard Morris, and Lettie Thomas, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by two sisters, Hester McCreary and Josie Robinson; and five brothers, Roy Willard, Jess Willard, John Willard, Troy Willard, and Dewey Willard. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church.
