Billy Junior Williams

Lieutenant Billy Junior Williams, age 86 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born April 7, 1937, in Surry County to the late Willie Austin Williams and Mattie Alice Leftwich Williams.  Mr. Williams retired from the Mount Airy Police Department with 26 years of service.  He was at the rank of Lieutenant when he retired.  Mr. Williams is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Faye Hooper Williams; daughters and son-in-law, Catherine Denise Wall, and Sherrie Lynn and Dale Higgins; sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton Mark and Tamara Williams, and Brian Austin and Rachel Williams; grandchildren, Alex Randall, Ellie Williams, Cooper Williams, and Luke Williams; sister, Myrtle Boger; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla Wall; son-in-law, Richard Wall; three sisters, Bertie Seal, Beulah Hinshaw, and Shirley Williams; and by three brothers, Johnny Williams, Clayton Williams and Bobby Williams.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 2:00pm in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel at with Chaplain Gray Shelton and Brother Tony Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
