Blanche Berrier Leonard

Mrs. Blanche Berrier Leonard, 88, of Cana, VA, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, in King. Mrs. Leonard was born March 26, 1921, in Carroll County, VA, to George and Nancy Jones Berrier. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Gene Goad of Cana, VA, and Carol and Lester Snow of Toast; a granddaughter, Valerie Goad; a stepgrandson, John David Snow; a sister, Beulah Leonard of Mount Airy; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Edith and W.O. Hill of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Leonard; a daughter, Jewell Leonard; a sister, Hazel Bryant; and brothers, Allen Berrier and Brawdis Berrier. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Victor Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonard Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
