Blane William Barnes

Blane William Barnes, 80, of Elkin passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was born December 26, 1926 in Watagua County to John and Callie Reagan Barnes. Mr. Barnes was retired from Vaughn Basset Furniture of Elkin and attended New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church of Elkin. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved gardening and the outdoors. He was a generous and giving friend to everyone. He is survived by a wife of 53 years, Georgia Stanley Barnes; a son Michael (Elaine) Barnes and three daughters Carolyn (James) Gentry, Sheila (Terry) Harrison and Beverly (Chris) Norman. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and a sister, Ruby Tucker. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home of Dobson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2007at 2:00 PM at New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Wayne Mears and Gary Sawyers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
