Bobbie Ruth Dowell

Mrs. Bobbie Ruth Hall Dowell age 74 of 590 Crossingham Road, Mount Airy, wife of Harry Dowell, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Dowell was born in Surry County on August 12, 1932, daughter of the late J.D. Hall and Grace Leonard Hall and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Harry Dowell of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Phillip Armstrong of Ararat, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Debbie Dowell, Stephen and Tammy Dowell and Todd and Shannon Dowell all of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren and spouses, Ingle and Chris Sloop of Pilot Mtn., Summer and Tim Hughes of Gibsonville, Keri and Justin Brinkley of Ararat, Brandon Dowell of Winston-Salem, Lyndsi Dowell, Matthew Dowell and Alisha Dowell all of Mount Airy and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dowell was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary J George, Jo Ann Willis and Patricia Ramey and one brother, Waymoth Hall. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Dr. Wayne Hager with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and especially to Amy Lawson.
