Bobby "Bob" Joe Mauldin

Mr. Bobby Joe Mauldin, age 95 of White Plains, passed away peacefully on Friday evening October 18, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born August 21, 1929, in Surry County to the late Roy Franklin Mauldin and Annie Mae Brintle Mauldin. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1959 and proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After serving, he retired from the trucking industry. Bob is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melonie and Bill Weathers; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lee Mauldin; four grandchildren, Chris and Misti Mauldin, Kendra and Jerry Matthews, Jake and Morgan Weathers, and Chase Weathers; three great grandchildren, Cole and Taylor Mauldin, Carson Mauldin and Katelyn Badgett, Brewer Weathers, and a granddaughter on the way, Ralleigh Kate Weathers; a special great great granddaughter, Marcie Cole Mauldin; sister, Betty Mauldin Tilley; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ben and Sylvia Mauldin, and Arnold Mauldin; several nieces and nephews; and last but not least, his special fur buddy, Fred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Louise O’Neal Mauldin; an infant sister, Susan Rebecca Mauldin; sister, Billie Marie Mauldin Eckenrod; and by two brothers, William Max Mauldin and Davis Rex Mauldin. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024, at 3:00pm in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Pilot Mountain Post 9436 and Mount Airy Post 2019.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00pm until time to leave for the graveside service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
