Mr. Bobby Ray Haymore, 78, of 301 East Lebanon Street, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday night, July 30, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Haymore was born May 23, 1931, in Surry County, to the late Charlie and Emma Shelton Haymore. Bobby served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired as a magistrate from the County of Surry. Mr. Haymore was a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Alice Martin Haymore of the home; a daughter, Delores Yeager of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Charlie Haymore of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter and her husband, Freida and Dennis Tate of Mount Airy; a stepson and his wife, Kelly and Kimberly Boyd of Mount Airy; a grandson, Kameron Stoewer of Las Vegas, NV; four stepgrandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Lynda Haymore and Ronald and Gail Haymore, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haymore was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Wilson and Frances Fulk; and four brothers, Thomas Haymore, James Haymore, Charles Autrey Haymore, and Johnny Haymore. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist and the Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 900 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
