Bobby Lee Jones

Mr. Bobby Lee Jones, 67, of 757 Hamburg Street, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at his home. He was born February 18, 1943, in Surry County, to Flora Hicks Jones and the late James Edward Jones, Sr. He retired as a truck driver with 41 years of service and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda Creed Jones of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Barry and Tammy Jones of Cana, VA, and Jimmy Jones of Boonville; six grandchildren; his mother, Flora Hicks Jones of Mount Airy; a sister, Judy Winford of Elkin; and four brothers and sisters-in-law, James Edward Jones, Jr. and Gloria, John Paul Jones and Sharon, and Calvin Jones and Linda, all of Mount Airy, and Clinton Fuller Jones and Kaye of Kernersville. In addition to his father, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Ray Jones and Alvin Jones. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Mr. Wade Hawks and the Rev. Steven Corn officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
