Bobby Lee Swaim

Mr. Bobby Lee Swaim, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.  Mr. Swaim was born March 23, 1948, in Surry County, the only child born to the late Norma Lee “Lou” Ring Swaim.  Bobby served our country in the United States Army National Guard for three years.  He was the former owner and operator of BLS Trucking Company and a member of Siloam Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlene Love Swaim of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Robert Myers of Kernersville; a son, Chad Evan Swaim of Kannapolis; and four grandchildren, Evan Allen, Cassie Myers, Chase Myers, and Emma Myers.  In addition to his mother, Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by a half-brother, Tony Swaim.  The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jarred Seal and the Rev. Bill Faw officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
