Bobby Phillip Throckmorton, Jr.

Mr. Bobby Phillip “Phil” Throckmorton, Jr., 65, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2024, at Cardinal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lincolnton.  Mr. Throckmorton was born January 9, 1959, in Surry County, to Bobby Phillip Throckmorton, Sr. and the late Rebecca Jean Jones Throckmorton.   Phil grew up in the White Plains community and graduated from North Surry High School in 1978.  Throughout the years, he worked in several textile mills and restaurants.  He is survived by his father, Bobby Phillip Throckmorton, Sr.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Karen Throckmorton; a niece, Anna Throckmorton; and an aunt, Betty Hill.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Dover Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 until 11:00 AM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
