Mr. Bobby Wayne Williams, 51, of 160 Locust Grove Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Williams was born October 11, 1958, in Surry County, to Betty Ruth Wise Williams and the late Bobby Ray Williams. He was last employed as a maintenance official in the hosiery industry and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Whitener Williams of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Charity Faith and Derek Snead of Lawsonville; a son, Clayton Allen Williams of the home; two grandchildren, Gabriel Alexander Snead and Camie Alexandria Ann Snead; his mother, Betty Ruth Wise Williams of Dobson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Richard Trent, Teresa and Mark Tesh, and Melinda and Mickey Finney, all of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Ray and Lisa Williams of Jacksonville, FL, and Ricky Dean and Glenda Williams of Dobson; numerous nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Whitener of Mexia, TX; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Joey and Kristie Whitener of Kinder, LA. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Joe Whitener officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church.
