Bonnie Jean Wilson Atkins

Mrs. Bonnie Jean Wilson Atkins, 72, of 1768 Inglebrook Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Atkins was born May 30, 1938, in Surry County, to the late Sandy and Hessie Cain Wilson. She retired from Lynn Hosiery Mills and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Bud Atkins of the home; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clarence and Geneva Wilson of Mount Airy and Johnny Wilson of High Point; a special niece, Sammie Lee Hicks of Mount Airy; several other nieces; and several nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by three sisters, Ercelle Wright, Dana Beasley, and Irene Cox; and two brothers, Joe Bill Wilson and Rayno Wilson. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
