Bonnie Lou Ayers

Mrs. Bonnie Lou Lyons Ayers, 67, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, November 23, 2022.  She was born September 18, 1955, in Staten Island, NY, to the late Ted Ray and Marie Wall Lyons.  Mrs. Ayers loved the Lord and her family.  She enjoyed spending time with the family and seeing those much-adored grandchildren.  Mrs. Ayers appreciated the beauty of God’s nature, the changing of the leaves, or the falling of snow, and her two beautiful dogs, Daisy and Coco.  She owned and worked at Dobson Produce along beside her husband for over 14 years, building many friendships along the way.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Johnny David Ayers; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Moxley and Joe; son and daughter-in-law, J. D. Ayers, Jr. and Amanda; grandchildren, Austin Moxley, Hannah Moxley, Chandler Ayers, and Madison Ayers; sister and brother-in-law, Anita Miller and Eric, brother, Edward Lyons.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Schroeder; and a brother, Teddy Lyons.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Bear Trail Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Crotts officiating.  Burial will follow at the Worrell Memorial Cemetery in Laurel Fork, VA.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
