Mrs. Bonnie Sue Creed Haynes, 92, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at RidgeCrest in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on October 11, 1929, to the late Oscar and Annie Callahan Creed. Mrs. Haynes loved life and loved all her family and friends. She loved surf fishing, dancing, crafts, and music. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Richard “Rick” Davis Haynes Jr. and wife Deborah, and William Franklin Haynes; grandchildren, Richard “Ricky” Davis Haynes III and wife Candy, Jennifer Anne Pegram and husband Shane, Ryan Coale Haynes, and wife Amy; great-grandchildren, Carson Haynes, Piper Haynes, Knox Haynes, Stella Haynes, Davis Pegram, and Coale Pegram. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Davis Haynes Sr; a brother, Chester Creed. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 PM until time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In Lieu of flowers the family request donation to be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy NC. 27030.
