Bonnie Sue McMillian Jones

Mrs. Bonnie Sue McMillian Jones, 64, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born April 5, 1945, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Robert Loman and Bertie Mazie Jones McMillian. Mrs. Jones retired from Cross Creek Apparel after 25 years of service. She was also a licensed cosmetologist and a homemaker. Mrs. Jones was a member of Paul's Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was a friend to everyone. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Melvin Jones of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Christopher Jones of Cana, VA; a grandson, Brandon Jacob Davis of Cana, VA; a stepgrandson, Cody Lee Jones; a great-grandson, Ethan Jacob Davis; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Blanche Murphy of Pilot Mountain, Beatrice Mitchell, Barbara Hall, and Belinda and Ray McMillian, all of Cana, VA, and Betty and William Tate of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Barbara McMillian of Rural Hall; and a special uncle and aunt, Buster and Mary Lee Jones of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Foy Ray McMillian; and four infant brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Any food donations should be taken to Paul's Creek Baptist Church on Thursday immediately following the service for the family and friends. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Jones during her stay at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
