Mrs. Bonnie Blizzard Fleming Monday, 76, of 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Monday was born October 8, 1934, in Surry County, to the late Robert Blizzard and Mauline Scott Blizzard Haynes. She was a program director for WSYD for over 30 years and was longtime member of White Plains Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Misty Sapp of Lowgap and Angie and Randy Fisher of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Shawn Rose of Quinlan, TX, David Clyde Rose and Chad Rose, both of Dugspur, VA, Phillip Ladd, Jr. and Devan Ladd, both of Rural Hall, Heather Ladd of Lambsburg, VA, and Amanda Fisher of Wilmington; seven great-grandchildren; a sister and special brother-in-law, Nancy and Wade Thompson of Mount Airy; and a special friend and "daughter #4," Deborah Cochran of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Monday was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Fleming; her second husband, Frank "Sonny" Monday; a daughter, Kathy Fleming Emerson; her stepfather, Ralph Haynes; and a stepsister, Helen Haynes Moore. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rawley "Dink" Haynes, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
