Brandon Taft Overby

Mr. Brandon Taft Overby, 51, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Overby was born February 17, 1971, in Surry County, to Jane Loflen Rountree and the late Jimmie Martin Overby.  He was employed in the restaurant industry as a chef and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mount Airy.  Surviving are his sons, Liam Taft Overby and Chapel Taft Overby; his mother, Jane Loflen Rountree and her husband, Bill; a stepsister, Laura Rountree Winter and her husband, Bill; the mothers of his sons, Kelly Davenport and Christy Snow; his special aunts, Margaret Loflen Frye and her husband, Steve, and Carolyn Loflen Niemeyer and her husband, Charles; his uncle, Ray Overby; his aunt, Kaye Overby Smith; and a special cousin, Chuck Niemeyer and his wife, Bridget.  There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Cross Creek Country Club, 1129 Greenhill Road, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Surry Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 981, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Overby family.
