Brenda Kay Ayers

Mrs. Brenda Kay Goins Ayers, 66, of Westfield, passed away at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation, Thursday, February 16, 2023.  She was born in Patrick County, VA, on December 14, 1956, to the late Lowell William and Ethel Brooksie Goins.  Mrs. Ayers worked for Kentucky Derby, and B&J Hosiery.  Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by a daughter, Amanda McCreary; sons, Kenny McCreary, and Zachary Ayers; grandchildren, Destiney, Asia, Cannon, Skylarr, and Breanna; great grandchildren, Bannor, and Cyrus; a sister, Mary Frances Boldin; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Dee Goins; special friend, Bonnie Martin; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by a sister, Pattie Shelton; a nephew, Ramey Shelton.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rickey Rodgers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goins Family Cemetery in Westfield.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
