Brenda Kay Francis

Ms. Brenda Kay Carpenter Francis, 72, of Dobson, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Wednesday, March 1, 2023.  She was born in Surry County, January 8, 1951, to the late Preston Emmitt and Opal Victoria Wolfe Carpenter.  Ms. Francis proudly served in the U.S. Army, working as a Cartographer in Germany and other locations.  She retired from Duke Energy after almost 30 years of service.  Ms. Francis loved her family dearly and relished every moment with her grandchildren.  She loved baseball and softball and enjoyed watching her daughter play volleyball during college.  She was so excited when the grandchildren started playing baseball, trying to always be there for their games.  Ms. Francis loved spending time at the beach, beach music, and shagging.  She will be fondly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Robin Foster; grandchildren, Jaxon, Griffin, and Bowman Foster; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and J.V. Lowe; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Francis was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Simpson.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Sammy Lawson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
