Brenda Gaye Hawks

Mrs. Brenda Gaye Hawks, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. She was born on September 14, 1945 in Surry County to the late William Henry Hawks and Sophia Lorraine Smith Hawks. Mrs. Hawks was a member of Mount Airy First Church of the Brethren. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Loretta Mabe as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Hawks was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Shelton, and Tiny Ethel Lawson; brother, Curtis Roger Hawks; brothers-in-law, Clarence Mabe, Roy Shelton, Roger Tolbert; sister-in-law, Nancy Tolbert. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
