Brenda Queen Howard

Mrs. Brenda Queen Howard, 56, of 318 Hunter Drive, Mount Airy, husband of Guy Steven Howard, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born February 3, 1957, in Patrick County, VA, to the late George Lee and Elsie Virginia Vipperman Queen. Brenda had worked at Central Continuing Care. She is survived by her husband, Guy Steven Howard of the home; a stepdaughter, Shelly Howard and her friend, Billy King, of Springfield, OH; a stepson and his wife, Steven Howard and Shawn of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Hayden Howard, Parker May Howard, and Katie King; a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy Astorga and Roberto of Mount Airy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Earl Queen of Mount Airy and Clifford Queen and Donna of Corpus Christi, TX; a brother-in-law and his wife, David Lee and Connie Howard of Springfield, OH; five nieces; six nephews; a very dear friend, Danny Ray Holyfield of Mount Airy; and other friends, Minnie and Sandra of Surry County. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by a brother, George Lee Queen, Jr. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 19, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jim Vipperman officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
