Brenda May Wood Jenkins

Mrs. Brenda May Wood Jenkins, age 78, of Dobson, NC passed away on Saturday December 31, 2022, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC. She was born in Surry County on December 22, 1944, to the late Elmer Wood and the late Mary Hazelwood Wood; in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by a daughter, Cheryl Yvonne Jenkins; a son, Thomas Randall Jenkins; brothers, Dean Wood, Lester Wood. Brenda was a member of Haven of Rest Bible Church, a homemaker, and a seamstress. Surviving is her daughters and sons-in-laws, Jeanette and Mitchell Smith, Maranda and John Niemiec, Vickie and Michael Senter, Regina and DC Patel, Serena and Chris Davis, Rachel and Brian Darnell; grandchildren and grandchildren-in-laws, Steven and Lindsay Smith, Kendra and Dustin Muir, Kari Smith, Samantha and Travis Southard, Grayson Niemiec and fiance Olivia Redding, Allison and Ethan Hooker, Autumn Senter, Gina Patel, Dana Patel, Jaiden Patel, Logan Barker-Davis, Taylor Darnell, Matthew and Lauren Payne; 13 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Phil Parker, Kathy and Nolan Bentley, Robin and Lee Payne; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Vicky Wood. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Haven of Rest Bible Church 2757 Fishers Gap Road, Galax, Va.  Mrs. Jenkins  will lie in state from 11:00 am until the service begins.  A private family burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Dobson, NC. Pastor David Spivey, Pastor Michael Senter, and Brother Chris Davis will officiate the services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
