Brenda Kay Gillespie Venable Snow

Mrs. Brenda Kay Gillespie Venable Snow, age 75, of Dobson, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 14, 1947, in Surry County, to the late Eva Wood Gillespie. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Gray Venable; her sister, Peggy Louise Gillespie; and her brother, Thomas Gillespie.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Don Snow; sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher Gray Venable, Dwayne Albert and Leighann Venable; and Timothy Scott Venable; stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Adrian and Gina Snow; seven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Artis Golding and Patty and Eddy Beasley; sister-in-law, Darlene Gillespie; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Dara Gillespie; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Snow had worked at Tultex in Dobson, was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was of the Christian faith, and attended New Home Church of Christ. The family would like to extend a special thanks for all the love and care given by Leighann Venable and special friend, Lynn Smith.  Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2023, from 12:00-1:30 PM at New Home Church of Christ. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, in the church, with Brother Tim Smith and Brother Joe Atkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, McLean, VA 22102. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Snow family.
