Brenda Wright Tilley

Mrs. Brenda Wright Tilley, born on January 23, 1951, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Wright; her mother, Melba Wright; and her brothers, Mickey Wright and Gary Wright. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Brent Tilley; her cherished children, Beth Tilley Green and Brad Tilley (Mike Marcantano); and her beloved grandchildren, Addison Green and Sawyer Green. Family was Brenda’s greatest joy, and she took immense pride in watching her grandchildren excel in sports. A proud alumna of Surry Central High School, Class of 1969, she served as captain of the cheerleading squad and treasured her lifelong friendships with her classmates. Brenda dedicated 30 years of her life to nursing, embodying care and compassion in her work. Her selfless nature and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Brenda had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her golden retriever, Marley, whom she lovingly proclaimed as the best dog ever. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Pine Hill Church for their love and prayers, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of the cardiac ICU at Forsyth Medical Center for their exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105), a charity that Brenda loved and believed in deeply. Additionally, a nursing scholarship will be established in Brenda’s name to honor her dedication to the profession. Though there are no funeral arrangements at this time, a celebration of Brenda’s life may be held at a later date. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
