Brenda Faye Towe

Brenda Faye Jones Towe, age 75, of Cana, VA, passed on Friday, June 24, 2022.  She was born on Jan 14, 1947, in Cana, Virginia, to the late Garland Jones and Thelma Edwards Jones.  Mrs. Towe was a strong spirited woman who loved her family, believed in God and fiercely valued her independence.   She enjoyed nature, cooking, and taking care of her home.  She was devoted to her husband Dennis Towe who preceded her in death in 1988.  Mrs. Towe is survived by her daughter Air Force Colonel Dorneen Shipp, son-in-law Jeffrey Shipp, granddaughter Deanna Shipp; grandson and partner, Dennis Shipp and Celestine Garcia; brothers, William Jones and James Jones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen Buck, Sandra Casstevens, Rita and Claude Cabaccang, Mary and Jim Lambert, and Elizabeth Jones.  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Towe was preceded in death by her brothers Frank Jones and Wayne Jones; sisters-in-law, Opal Jones, Ruth Jones, and Molly Jones, and a brother-in-law, Lamon Casstevens.  Many loving friends and family provided support to Brenda while she remained at home.  The family is very grateful for Ruby Hall, Johnetta and Neil Dawson, Vicki Dawson Nester, Mary Ann Midkiff, Elva Stephens, and the amazing, dedicated, professional nurses and doctors who cared for her. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, Friday, July 1, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM and the funeral service will begin in the chapel at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at the Jones-Fleming Family Cemetery in Cana, VA.
