Buddy Ray Bowman

Mr. Buddy Ray Bowman, 64, of 649 Claudville Highway, Claudville, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006. Mr. Bowman was born November 30, 1941, in Surry County, to Pate Eugene and Ergie Lois Nunn Bowman. He was employed with the Forsyth County division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and attended Dry Pond Church of Christ in Stuart, VA. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita Faye McMillon Bowman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Renee and Curtis Lanford Busick, Jr. of Claudville, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Alan and Shelia Bowman of Westfield; four grandchildren, Ashley "Brooke" Bowman and Mason Tanner Bowman, both of Westfield, and Cortney Danielle Busick and Curtis Lanford Busick, III, both of Claudville, VA; his parents, Pate Eugene and Ergie Lois Nunn Bowman of Claudville, VA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beatrice and Trenton Spence and Judy and Phillip Anderson, all of Claudville, VA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Johnny Bowman and R.C. and Bonnie Bowman, all of Claudville, VA; and special friends, Glenn Marshall of Ararat, VA, Charles Smith and Marty Collins, both of Claudville, VA, and Steve Mears and Jeff Hawks, both of Mount Airy. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a son, Barry Ray Bowman. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 2:00 PM at Dry Pond Church of Christ in Stuart, VA. The service will be conducted by the Rev. James A. Percival, and burial will be in the Dry Pond Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
