Burl Fleming

Mr. Otis Burlin "Burl" Fleming age 73 of 171 W. Poplar Street, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Wilma Bowman Fleming passed away Tuesday morning, January 22, 2008 at Central Continuing Care. He was born October 16, 1934 in Carroll County, VA to the late James and Ida Belle Myers Fleming. He was a former police officer for the City of Mt. Airy, a former retired restaurant owner and operator and was of the Holiness faith. Surviving are his wife, Wilma B. Fleming of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Cathy Fleming, Cana, VA, Eric and Vickie Fleming, Mt. Airy, Greg and Lori Fleming, Pilot Mountain, five grandchildren, Tiffany Leigh Fleming, Yadkinville, Michael Todd Soloman and Erika Elizabeth Soloman both of Mt. Airy and Drake Gralin Fleming, Pilot Mountain, Crystal McHone, Cana, VA four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Grover Fleming and Harlass Fleming and Leon and Judy Fleming all of Mt. Airy, and Stanley and Linda Fleming, Lowgap, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Lois Fleming, brother, Elroy Fleming and two half brothers, Marvin Frazier and Dewey Frazier. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Robbie Sizemore. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM Thursday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home.
