Calvin Leon Plaster

Mr. Calvin Leon Plaster, age 54 of Critz, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006 at his home. He was born in Henry County on October 7, 1951 to the late Homer Austin Plaster and Lee Dillon Plaster of Stuart. In addition to his father, Mr. Plaster was preceded in death by one son, David Scott Plaster, and one brother, Wayne Stephen Plaster. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, and had been a 3rd shift superintendent at United Elastic Corporation. He was a member of the first graduating class of Patrick County High School. He was a former member of the Patrick County Jaycees, and he and his family received the Jaycee Family of the Year award in 1984. He had served as a coach for girls' basketball and softball teams at Hardin Reynolds Elementary School. In addition to his mother, Mr. Plaster is survived by his wife, Brenda Lewis Plaster of the home; one daughter, Suzanne Marie Plaster of Kernersville, North Carolina; one sister, Brenda Plaster Smith of Walnut Cove, North Carolina, along with other special relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Plaster will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
