Cappie Lee Jones

Mrs. Cappie Lee Jones, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Jones was born March 9, 1920, in Surry County, to the late Thomas Granville and Susan Creed Kingsbury. She was a retired cosmetologist and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Douglas Jones of State Road; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Jones Sr.; two daughters, Wanda Lea Cutler and Marilyn Kaye Butcher; a son, Charles Wesley Jones, Jr.; five sisters, Stella Pratt, Marie Holscher, Ethel Westmoreland, Mary Moody, and Catherine Draughn; and five brothers, James D. Kingsbury, Eldridge Kingsbury, William Kingsbury, Robert Kingsbury, and John Kingsbury. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 26, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
