Mr. Carl Randolph "Randy" Golding, 81, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Wolt Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Golding was born March 16, 1929, in Wythe County, VA, to Hobert E. and Julina Upchurch Dunford. He was a well-known car salesman in the area for many years and a member of Franklin Heights United Methodist Church. Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Sue Norman Golding of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Kenny Jones and Janet and Daniel Rodden; a son, Carl Stanley Golding; six grandchildren, Bradley Golding, Lee Anders, Leslie Golding, Meredith Rodden, Emma Kaye Rodden, and Matthew Rodden; four great-grandchildren, Kendall Ann Golding, Teagan Dayle Golding, Jade Anders, and Chase Anders; a half-sister, Zerna Felts; a special nephew and his wife, Donald and Julia Golding; two nieces, Wilma Bjontergard and Linda Edwards; and three nephews, Mark Golding, Grant Dunford and Larry Dunford. In addition to his biological parents, Mr. Golding was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, R.C. and Ellen Golding; a loving son, Edward Dale Golding; a sister, Loretta Payton; a brother, Glenn Dunford; two half-brothers, Dewey "Tom" Dunford and Herbert "Snook" Dunford; an adoptive sister, Ona Golding; and a special adoptive sister, Emma Nichols. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Franklin Heights United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Buffkin and the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
