Carl William Johnson

Mr. Carl William Johnson, 54, of Mount Airy passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Central Continuing Care Nursing Center. He was born in Surry County on December 9, 1952 to Hazel Ferguson Johnson and the late Rufus Edward Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a Veteran of the United States Army having served our country during the Vietnam War and was a self-employed mechanic. Surviving are his mother, Hazel Ferguson Johnson of Mt. Airy, NC: a daughter Toni Johnson of Elkin, NC; a son, Jason Johnson of Mtn. Park, NC; three grandchildren, Mercedes, Diamond and Brianna Johnson; a nephew, T Sergeant, Jerry M. Johnson stationed in Iraq; a sister, Mary Ann Johnson; three half sisters, Shirley Johnson, Donna Pardue, and Tammy Guss all of Mt. Airy; two brothers, Dennis and Edward Johnson both of Mt. Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and Dean Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Keith Cox officiating and Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mtn. Post 9436. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Monday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 2101 Dobbins Mill Road, Elkin, NC.
