Carl Alton "Joe" Martin

Mr. Carl Alton “Joe” Martin, age 87, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born November 1, 1931 in Surry County to the late Leonard Barryman Martin and the late Ruth Irene Walker Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Jenkins Martin and his brothers, Ricky Martin and Bobby Martin. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Everette Lawson and Kathy Aileen and Phillip Mayes; and his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Vivian Martin; twelve grandchildren; Jessica and Jerry Goins, Justin Martin, Katrina and Monte Wolfe, Alisha and Rodney Johnson, Dianne Sierro, Christiana Lawson. Nicole and Nick Simmons, Matthew Lawson, Lydia Mayes, Tara Mayes, Melissa Jenkins and Tiffany Fulton; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Draughn, Faye Snow, Rachel Harris, Brenda Riddle and Carol Boger; and a brother, Barry Martin. Mr. Martin was retired from Chatham Mills and a member of East Elkin Full Gospel Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 10-11 A.M. at East Elkin Full Gospel Church. The funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Terry Coe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
