Carl Raymond Mitchell, Sr.

Mr. Carl Raymond Mitchell, Sr., 62, of Lowgap, passed away Tuesday morning, June 19, 2018, at his home.  Mr. Mitchell was born May 7, 1956, in Surry County, to Patsy Goodson Barringer and the late Warren Edward Mitchell.  Carl worked at Mountain Lumber and Pallet Company for 21 years.  He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Dawn Mitchell of Maiden and Carl Raymond Mitchell, Jr. and Amy Mitchell of Salley, SC; eight grandchildren; his mother, Patsy Goodson Barringer of Lowgap; a sister, Gloria Flemming of Cana, VA; a brother, Edward Holbrook of Ararat, VA; his former wife, Patti Beheler of Salley, SC; an aunt and uncle, Ann and Edward Moore of Lowgap; his best friends, Herman and Lisa Edwards of Lowgap; his dear friends, Nellie Creed and Trish Hege, both of Lowgap; and many other friends.  The funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Bill Spurlin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
