Carl Davis Smith

        Mr. Carl Davis Smith, age 81 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born in Stokes County, NC on February 24, 1942, to the late Tom Smith and Stacey George Smith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Smith.  Carl had retired from DuPont.  His lifelong passion was attending and participating in car shows.

         Surviving is his loving wife of over 60 years, Joan Williams Smith of the home; two sons, Ricky Smith, Darren Smith; one daughter and son-in-law, Eydie and Juston Fontaine; six grandchildren, Leif Smith, Dean Smith, Dylan Smith, Zane Smith, Xena Smith, Ainsley Fontaine; three great grandsons, Kalix Smith, Mason Smith, Dean Smith; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Richard Holbrook, Sandra and Joe Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

         A graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Dobyns Community Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dewayne Troutt.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
