Carla Jean Allen Cohee

Ms. Carla Jean Allen Cohee, 51, of 537 Linville Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Ms. Cohee was born January 13, 1957, in Hampden County, MA, to Richard William Allen, Sr. and the late Lorraine Mary Swiderski Allen. She was formerly employed as an inspector at Kentucky Derby Hosiery. Carla was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Joey Douglas Burch of the home; her father, Richard William Allen, Sr. of Tampa, FL; a sister, Lorraine Allen Griffin of Largo, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Trina Allen of Apopka, FL, and Gary and Rosy Allen of Holiday, FL; several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Tony and Carol Leftwich of Mocksville and Michael Cowden of Independence, VA; and several aunts. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
