Carlene Justice

Shortly after sunrise on Sunday, December 2, 2018, Carlene Justice passed away peacefully at her home. A lifetime resident of Patrick County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Cephas and Lena Holt; sisters, Yvonne Soring and Kitty Sue Willard; and brothers, Jim Nash, Ray Holt, and Billy Holt. She was also especially close to her cousin, Patsy Rorrer.

Early in her life, Carlene was a charter member at Calvary Baptist Church in Patrick Springs and taught Bible lessons for children’s Sunday school. She worked hard all her life in the textile industry and retired from J.P. Stevens. Carlene was also an excellent bowler and filled the basement with championship trophies.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Justice; sons James Odell (Marcella) and Ken Justice (Andrea); daughter Regena Shough (James); grandchildren Cheryl Nance (John), Lori Bowman (Wayne) and was especially close to Adam Justice (Julie), Chrissy Belcher (Eddie) and great-grandchildren Leland Justice and Hamp Belcher. She was also blessed with many great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Carlene has requested a private burial with her ashes scattered among those of her sister, Yvonne. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon.
