Carol Jean Atkins

Mrs. Carol Jean Atkins Marion Atkins, age 79, of Ararat, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon March 30, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born April 29, 1943, in Surry County to the late Claude Emerald Atkins, Sr. and Viola Mae Carter Atkins.  She was a loving wife, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.  Mrs. Atkins is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry Gray Atkins of the home, sister, Helen Atkins Easter; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Atkins and Betty Atkins; a special niece, Rhonda Quesinberry; and several other nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by an infant sister, Patricia Ann Atkins; brothers, Dennis Atkins and Roger Atkins, and by two infant brothers, Claude Emerald Atkins, Jr. and Edwin Atkins.  Funeral services will be held on Monday April 3, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy at 11:00AM with Brother James Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00AM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Atkins family.
