Carol Ann (Leigh) Baker

Mrs. Carol Ann Leigh Baker, age 84 of Mount Airy, passed away on Wednesday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Baker was born June 25, 1938, in Cook County, Illinois to the late William and Veronica Mitchell Leigh.  Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving are her four daughters, Vicki Baker Guerry, Sandy Baker Brewer, Laurie Baker, Lisa Baker Wingfield; one son, Tommy Henry Baker, Jr.; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a niece and nephew.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Henry Baker; a brother, Don Leigh, and her special friend, Lorna Fischer.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church in Lowgap with Reverend Clyde Stewart and Reverend Russell Parsons officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Lowgap from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
