Mrs. Carol Sue Ellis Everhart, age 81, of Mount Airy, widow of Dalmar Franklin Everhart, passed away at Northern Regional Hospital on Sunday afternoon March 12, 2023.  She was born in Durham County on May 19, 1941, to the late John Luther Ellis and Louise McGhee Ellis.  Mrs. Everhart was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church and was the owner of Ellis Clothing in Mayberry Mall from the time the mall opened until her retirement in 1989 at the age of 48.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dennis Bruner; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Kathy Everhart; 5 grandchildren, Matt Everhart, Andrew and Lisa Everhart, Ashley and Shane Champ, Meagan Bruner, and Amanda Manley; 5 great-grandchildren, Cambry Champ, Eli Bruner, William Bruner, Aubrey Manley, and Alannah Manley; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Diana Ellis; nephew, Jeffrey Ellis; and a niece, Deana and Jimmy Beck.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Everhart was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dalmar Franklin Everhart; a sister, Betty Jo Ellis Abbott; and an infant sister, Mary Louise Ellis.  A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday March 18, 2023, at 2:00PM at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy.  Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2591 Wards Gap Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Everhart family.
