Carol Rose Lowe

Ms. Carol Rose Lowe, 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  She was born October 11, 1948, in Surry County, to the late Samuel Decosta and Mildred Galyean Lowe.  Ms. Lowe was a retired knitter and inspector from Sara Lee Corporation and worked many years at Kentucky Derby Hosiery.  She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.  She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela Robin Lowe and TJ Joyner of Mount Airy and Teresa and Jimmy Smith of Lowgap; two brothers, Ray Lowe and Terry Lowe, both of Mount Airy; and a special friend, Pat Pennell of Stokesdale.  Ms. Lowe was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Decosta and Mildred Galyean Lowe.  The funeral service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012, at 2:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gray Kirkman and the Rev. Joe Atkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where she will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, 206 West Pine Street, Mount Airy, NC  27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
