Carol Jean Smart

Carol Jean Smart, age 64 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Stanleytown Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bassett. She was born on May 29, 1952 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Verna Lee Scott and Lucy Walton Scott. In addition to her parents, Ms. Smart was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaither Scott and Larry Scott. She had been a security guard at Primland Resort.

Ms. Smart is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Willie and Janet Smart, Jr., Shawn and Victoria Smart, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Stacie and Dan Bolt of Willis, Sheila Smart of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Christian Bolt and Miranda Bolt; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Kim Scott of Moneta; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Sheppard of Spencer, Brenda and Steve Hughes of Stuart, Nancy Grant of Kansas, Reva and Timmy White of Thaxton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jonathan Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman-Scott Family Cemetery.
