Carole Ann Blair Bledsoe

Mrs. Carole Ann Blair Bledsoe, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 15, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Bledsoe was born March 5, 1943, in Surry County, one of three daughters born to the late Calvin Coolidge Blair and Ruby Ellen Payne Blair Ward. Carole retired as principal at Franklin Elementary School after 32 years of service with Surry County Schools. She was a dedicated Christian and a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Carole was a strong woman who loved her family dearly and impacted the lives of friends, colleagues, and students. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy Junior Bledsoe of the home; a daughter, Julie Pendleton of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Donna Bledsoe of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Ashley Blair Martin, Jared Dan Pendleton, EmmaGrey Parker Dorsett, Caroline Victoria Bledsoe, and Otis Samuel Bledsoe; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and John R. Dalton, Jr. of Pilot Mountain and Linda and Jack Hardy of Elizabeth City; several beloved nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Alma Coleman of Mount Airy; a special uncle, Troy Payne, Sr. of Mount Airy; and many cousins and other relatives. A service of worship and a celebration of Carole’s life will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
