Caroline Boyles Kirkman

Mrs. Caroline Boyles Kirkman, 85, of Mt. Airy, widow of Lassie Kirkman, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Kirkman was born January 19, 1928 in Surry County the daughter of the late Wayne Ronald and Ila Felicia Norman Boyles. Mrs. Kirkman was retired from Central Telephone Company after 30 years of service and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Surviving two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Rodney George of Mount Airy, Carol and Curly Powell of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sue Kirkman of Mount Airy, and Donnie and Joan Kirkman of Tobaccoville, NC; grandchildren, Buffie Kirkman of Winston-Salem, Kimberly Beeson and Troy of Raleigh, Andrew Kirkman of Honolulu, HI, Jimmy George of Cornelius, Melissia Golding and Dale of Mount Airy, April Badgett and Kenny of Mount Airy, Kirk George of Mount Airy, Stephanie Hall and Ray of King, and Travis Powell of Mount Airy; great grandchildren, Taylor Golding, Abby Golding, Hunter Badgett, Karleigh Badgett, Brilee Badgett, Cody Hall, Brandy Rhodes and Brandon, Lucas Beeson, and Braden Beeson; great great granddaughter, Rylee Rhodes; sister, Felicia Beamon of Clearwater, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Lib Boyles of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kirkman was preceded in death by her son, Larry Kirkman, and a sister, Jennie Lee Pender. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 15, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Martin and Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. Interment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The Kirkman family will receive friends on Saturday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy and other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Powell 120 Farmbrook Road Mount Airy, NC 27030.
