Carolyn Bateman

Carolyn Genevieve Bateman, aged 82, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023.

Formerly of Roselle, New Jersey and Mt. Airy, where she spent the majority of her life, Carolyn lived her remaining years in Eatontown, New Jersey.

Carolyn and her husband Lloyd, who predeceased her, were owners of Lloyds Restaurant in Garwood, New Jersey for over 16 years. She enjoyed meeting new people and learning from new experiences. She most enjoyed her grandchildren and hearing all the stories they shared.

In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her parents Alexander and Margaret Thompson, brothers Louis Sullivan and Dennis Thompson and sister, Catherine Thompson.

Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, James Bateman and Maricel of Nevada, Kenneth Bateman and Pamela of Missouri, Michael Bateman and Louise of New Jersey and her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Dowdy and Steven of New Jersey. She had six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be missed by all including many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
