Carolyn Inez Gwyn Guynn

Mrs. Carolyn Gwyn Guynn, age 72 of Mount Airy, NC passed away Thursday February 1, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  She was born November 24, 1951, in Surry County to the late Rufus Franklin Gwyn and Gracie Ayers Guynn.  She was always compassionate, non-judgmental, and a very loving mother, nanny, and great-grandmother.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Tammy Guynn; grandchildren, Justin Franklin Guynn, Annabella Gracie Guynn, and Jennifer Renea McGrady; great-grandson, Rowan Wentz Guynn; brother, Ricky Nelson Guynn; nephews, Timmy Guynn, David Guynn, and John Boy Guynn; sister-in-law, Debbie Guynn; special friend, Ricky Higgs; and several other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Guynn was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Franklin Guynn; son, Richard Dale Guynn; brother, Junior Franklin Guynn, sisters, Betty Sue Guynn and Vickie Lynn Guynn; and a brothers-in-law, Joey Guynn, and Randy Guynn.  Graveside services will be held on Sunday afternoon February 4, 2024, at 2:00pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home, but the family will be gathering at Carolyn’s home.
