Carrie Maxie Pipinos

Mrs. Carrie Maxie Goins Pipinos, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday afternoon, July 31, 2020, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA.  Mrs. Pipinos was born January 16, 1926, in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late Walter and Mannie Burkhart Goins.  Carrie retired from Mount Airy Hosiery after many years of service.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, H. William “Billy” and Linda Pipinos; a daughter-in-law and her husband, Donna and Dean Beal; her grandchildren, Crystal and Justin Hill, Chris and Tracie Pipinos, Dawn and Scott Lyman, Fawn Shaw, and Jamie Dollyhigh; her stepgrandchildren, Warren and Jessica Morgan, Artie and Kelly Beabout, and Cassandra Wine; her great-grandchildren, John Daniel Gates, Sadie Jarrells, Jonathan Pipinos, Justin and Elizabeth Pipinos, Coey Pipinos, Madison Shaw, Chandler Shaw, Caleb Shaw, Brittany and Casey Lyman, Kelsey King, Ryan Dollyhigh, and Mason Dollyhigh; her great-stepgrandchildren, Oliver Reese Morgan, Rowan Orion Morgan, Bryce Wine, and Kyra Wine; and her great-great-grandchildren, Alora, Emmitt, Kenley, Colin, Skylar, Bryhlee, Zaylah, and three on-the-way.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pipinos was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Pipnos; a son, John Walter “Johnny” Pipinos; three sisters, Dorothy Goins, Virginia Goins, and Laramie Bowman; and two brothers, Bruce Goins and Grant Goins.  Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a graveside celebration of Carrie’s life will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Midkiff Cemetery.  The service will be conducted by the Rev. Ray Hutson.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by Cindy Swinney and Kaley Thornton, along with the entire staff at Galax Health and Rehabilitation Center.
