Carroll Elwood Amburn

Mr. Carroll Elwood Amburn, 91, of Galax, VA, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007, at his home. Mr. Amburn was born October 15, 1915, in Carroll County, VA, to Guy S. and Arizona Judith Brannock Amburn. Mr. Amburn is survived by a daughter, Betty Pilson of Stuart, VA; three grandchildren, Christopher Amburn, Marcie Mabe, and Kelly Frost; and two great granddaughters, Rianna Frost and Courtney Sumner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Amburn was preceded in death by his wife, Flora E. Amburn; a son, Thomas E. Amburn; and two sisters, Vivian Morris and Maxine Higgins. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax, VA. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 29, 2007, at 1:00 PM at Blue Ridge Chapel Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev.
