Carvey Lee Tatum

          Mr. Carvey Lee Tatum, age 64, of Stuart, Virginia departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on February 24, 1958, to the late Charles Hughes Tatum and the late Ruth Elzene Turner Tatum. In addition to his parents, Carvey was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Gwendale Tatum. Carvey was a simple man who lived the country life. He was a handyman, electrician, carpenter, an avid outdoorsman, and attended Fox Tech High School; in which he was very proud of. He loved fishing and loved his pets. Most of all, Carvey will be remembered for his special love of family and friends, and for being a grandfather to many. Mr. Tatum will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Tatum are one son, Maurice Muhammad of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandsons, Amir Muhammad of Atlanta, Georgia; Halim Muhammad of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Terry Marshall Tatum (Martina) of Winston- Salem, North Carolina, James Leonard Tatum (Martina) of Danville, Virginia; one nephew, Marcel Tatum; and a host of special friends and extended family.

A funeral service for Mr. Tatum will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, at 2:30 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Melton Roberson officiating. A wake will be held thirty minutes prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Monday afternoon.
