Cassie Pauline (Mears) Jackson

Mrs. Cassie “Pauline” Mears Jackson, age 92, of Mount Airy passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy.  Mrs. Jackson was born in Surry County on May 5, 1930, to the late Joseph Hillary and Anise Pruitt Mears.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  Pauline retired from Renfro and was a faithful member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny Jackson Culler and husband Dennis; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Rick Jackson and wife Lisa, Marty Jackson and wife Leigh Anne, Joe Burnell and wife Ruth; nine grandchildren, Avery Culler, Aaron Culler and Charlotte, Anna Culler Elliott and Logan, Kelly Jackson Waters and husband Bryan, Josh Jackson and wife Kendra, Tanner Jackson and wife Abbie, Abbi Jackson and boyfriend, Chase Wright, Amanda Cannon and husband Jack, Angela Williams and husband Craig; eleven great-grandchildren, Caroline, Sheridan, Jack, Emma, Tempa, Dominic, Chloe, Joanna, Jack Edward, Katie, Gracie; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Gail Phillips.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Jackson; five sisters, Louise Mears Cockerham, Betty Mears Simmons, Lois Mears Long, Mary Mears White, Sallie Mears; and three brothers, Claude Mears, Raymond Mears, and Tom Mears.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church (on Penn Street, Mount Airy) with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Rev. Rick Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow at the Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Airy, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Northern Regional Hospital, Stepdown Unit and Central Continuing Care for the love and care giving to Mrs. Jackson.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
